LAST month, Ugandan computer users got a warning regarding pirating Microsoft software. Those who are affected have to pay hefty penalties, while others have to think about alternatives since pirated software is cheaper than the originals.
Some software experts advise that those who can not afford Microsoft software should try out free and open-source software, instead of having to suffer the unexpected repercussions of illegally obtaining and using commercial software.
