If you've never experienced Linux before, getting yourself a copy of Ubuntu is probably the best way to start.

Please use a download application capable of resuming downloads in case you are disconnected mid-download. (Mozilla Firefox works very well for this.)
For best results, download and install Ubuntu or Kubuntu off-line, then follow these instructions for using our locally hosted cache in order to quickly and easily update your installation to the latest version.
